Teaching support are excited to be working with an SEMH SEN school on the border of Greenwich/Bexley postcode SE28 who are looking to recruit several Learning Support Mentors to start throughout November into the New Year
The school supports students from KS2 – KS5 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, with roles to cover a variety of different Key Stages. The environment can be incredibly challenging in terms of behaviour however it can also be highly rewarding, the positions are long term supply with the chance of becoming permanent after a set period of weeks working through Teaching Support.
The positions will start on a temporary basis with the option of going permanent after several weeks working through Teaching Support.
It is essential that you have some of the below experience:
Experience of supporting children/young adults with challenging behaviour
A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with students that have had challenging backgrounds and to be able to quickly build trust
Worked within an SEMH school or with students with SEMH previously
Experience supporting students within SEN school’s or candidates with a mental health support/young offender’s background would be strong candidates
Being of a firm nature when necessary
The rate of pay is £75+ per day for the right candidates.
