Teaching Support is delighted to be supporting We are Beams, a local charity supporting disabled children and their families living in Kent.
Beams Vision is to take the lead in transforming the lives of disabled children and young people which will enable them to have greater independence and control of their lives and futures.

They support children and young people with many disabilities aged 0-19 years. They will typically have one or multiple learning difficulties, complex health needs, physical or sensory impairments, challenging behaviour, Autism or ADHD.

The charity was set up originally in 1996 by parents of disabled children who found there was a great need for family support. Services include practical advice, direct family payments, leisure activities, after school clubs, overnight residential breaks and training for parents and professionals as well as all round family support.

Beams need to generate £1.4 million this year in order to continue offering our services and are reliant on voluntary contributions from the community and local businesses.

Teaching Support have named We are Beams as our charity of the year and in addition to helping recruit workers for Beams Holiday Clubs and sponsoring the Colour Dash event, we have also donated to support families in crisis.  This donation will allow Beams to help families with much needed help and financial support.
