We are working with a mainstream primary school in Chatham who are looking to recruit a qualified Teaching Assistant to work with a child in a Year 4 classroom who has Autism. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday and is due to start ASAP for the right candidate, interviews will be held shortly.
The role will consist of supporting the child 1:1 in all lessons and with all aspects of their learning throughout the day and ensuring that their behaviour is managed effectively. Knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum would be preferable.
Your key duties will be to greet the child as soon as they get into the classroom and assist them in organising their belongings ready for the day, running through their visual timetable with them so that they are aware of their daily routine, supporting them in all lessons and any other duties allocated to you by the Class Teacher.
It is essential that you are at least L2 qualified as a Teaching Assistant and enjoy working with children with additional needs.
The school is a one-form entry primary school, is very welcoming and has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
